Tag Question
Tag question is a special grammatical structure. It’s a statement followed by a tag or a mini question.
We add a tag at the end of some statements to get a response.
It means something like "Do you agree with me?" or "Am I right?"
- To make a tag, use the same auxiliary verb found in the statement.
- If there is no auxiliary verb, use Do, Does, and Did.
- If the statement is in positive form, make a negative tag but if the statement is in negative, make a positive tag.
Now I’m going to show you an example with several verb tense:
The Past Perfect Tense
The Past Perfect tense in English is composed of two parts: the past tense of the verb to have (had) + the past participle of the main verb.
Examples:
- She had finished the test.
- They had won all the tournaments.
- They had worked here for five years.
